Looking for a special way to celebrate your little one’s birthday without the mess of a traditional cake smash?
Our Birthday Sessions are designed to capture beautiful, timeless portraits that celebrate this special milestone while creating memories you’ll treasure forever.
Sessions are photographed on a simple, neutral backdrop, with the option to add a balloon garland, personalised styling, or a themed setup to suit your child’s personality and birthday celebration.
For a fun alternative to a cake smash, you can choose to include one of our realistic faux cakes. They look just like the real thing and are perfect for creating adorable birthday portraits without any of the mess.
To finish the session, we can also include a few bathtub portraits. The tub is used without water, creating all the charm of a classic cake smash splash session while keeping your little one clean and comfortable. This is completely optional—simply let me know before your session if you’d like to include these images.

What age are birthday sessions suitable for?
Birthday sessions can be booked for children of all ages. They are especially popular for first birthdays, but are also perfect for celebrating second, third and milestone birthdays.
When is the best time to book my birthday session?
I recommend booking your Birthday Mini Session around 3-4 weeks before your child’s birthday to allow plenty of time for your session and to enjoy your photographs around their special day. However, if you would prefer the photographs to be taken closer to their birthday, you’re welcome to book your session nearer the time, subject to availability.
Can family and sibling photos be included?
Yes! Family and sibling photographs can be included at the beginning of your session, creating beautiful memories for you to treasure.
What should my child wear?
I recommend neutral tones, soft colours and outfits that complement your chosen setup. A preparation guide will be sent before your session with plenty of suggestions.
Can I bring my own decorations or props?
Absolutely. You're welcome to bring special items such as birthday outfits, favourite toys, balloons or keepsakes to personalise your session.
How long does a birthday session last?
Most birthday sessions last around 1 hour, allowing plenty of time for portraits, family photographs and any birthday-themed images.
What if my child is shy or doesn't cooperate?
Please don't worry. I work at your child's pace and keep sessions relaxed and fun. Some of the most beautiful photographs happen naturally while children explore and play.
How do I secure my booking?
A £99 non-refundable deposit is required to secure your session date. The remaining balance is due on the day of your session.
